Discover an Ancient Malay Combat Art

Still relevant in modern times

“Tekpi is a brutally effective combat art that has been proven in real life and death conflict over the course of centuries.  In the true spirit of Southeast Asian Silat, Tekpi assumes no advantage and seeks to equip its students with skills which are meant to dramatically increase the probability of surviving physical confrontation regardless of the circumstances.”

Tekpi has a lot to offer

tekpi weapons training

The signature weapon of Seni Silat Kuntau Tekpi is the tekpi, a truncheon better known by some as the sai.

Welcoming instruction

Tekpi is a comprehensive combat system suitable for anyone and we are excited to introduce this wonderful art to the world!

Deep cultural roots

Seni Silat Kuntau Tekpi’s popularity has continued to grow and spread since the 17th century when it was developed and codified by Panglima Taib.  It remains a cherished family art which has been opened to the world.  PSSKTM-USA officially represents the art in the United States.

Plans for future training camps with tekpi master instructor

PSSKTM-USA was very grateful for a recent opportunity to train with Tekpi’s master instructor, Amirul Mukminin bin Abd Rani, during a recent US training camp.  Guru Amirul came representing his father, Tuan Haji Sani bin Haji Zainal who is the current head of the system.  They are both very passionate about their family art and the rich Malay culture surrounding it.  We at PSSKTM-USA are extremely happy to help spread the art we affectionately call “Tekpi”, and we are looking forward to participating in and hosting future training events in the USA.
